🗓️ What we’re watching

  • As congressional Republicans look to President-elect Donald Trump to decide how to enact his legislative agenda, he’s instead punting the decision back to them. Trump told reporters after meeting with Senate Republicans that it “doesn’t matter to me” which strategy is used to pass a sweeping tax, energy and border package.
  • As flames continue to engulf parts of Los Angeles, killing at least five and destroying thousands of buildings, Trump is attacking the state’s Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom, a longtime political rival. “One of the best and most beautiful parts of the United States of America is burning down to the ground,” Trump said late Wednesday on Truth Social. “It’s ashes, and Gavin Newscum should resign. This is all his fault!!!”
