GOP-linked firm gathers info on people suing the oil industry. It won’t say why.
Oil and gas executives were big backers of the Republican president and his “energy dominance’ message, but the trade fights he’s picked are driving up their costs and threatening to undermine the economy.
The move is the most aggressive attack yet by the Trump administration to undo previous efforts to limit the emissions that are warming the planet.
The move comes just one day before a federal judge will hold a hearing in a lawsuit brought by one of the grant recipients seeking access to the funds held in a Citibank account that the Trump administration had frozen while it probed the program.
