Energy secretary says fuel prices may not get back under $3 until 2027
But Chris Wright said he expects prices have peaked.
The country is rapidly moving to restart reactors as artificial intelligence increases electricity demand and foreign wars choke gas supplies.
Republicans are standing by the Energy secretary, who was on Capitol Hill answering for the fallout from the Iran war.
