Dick Durbin said Wednesday he was “overwhelmed” by Pope Leo XIV’s comments on his behalf, made this week after the Catholic Archdiocese of Chicago’s decision to honor the pro-abortion-rights Democrat for his immigration work sparked a backlash from conservatives.
