Pop superstar Beyonc\u00e9 will perform at Kamala Harris’ campaign rally in Houston on Friday, NBC News reports<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Three sources told NBC News that Beyonc\u00e9 will appear at the Friday rally in her hometown. One of the sources with direct knowledge of the preparations said the \u201cTexas Hold \u2018Em\u201d singer will <\/strong>also perform.<\/p>\n

Country music legend Willie Nelson and Beyonc\u00e9\u2019s mother, Tina Knowles, will also be at the rally, according to the event page<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Harris has racked up a number of endorsements from major celebrities, including Taylor Swift<\/a>, Oprah Winfrey, Megan Thee Stallion, Bruce Springsteen and George Clooney. Beyonc\u00e9, who has a history of backing Democratic candidates, has not explicitly endorsed Harris. But she has signaled her support for the vice president in other ways, including granting the Harris campaign permission to use her song \u201cFreedom\u201d<\/a> at events and in its first ad. <\/p>\n

There was also fervent speculation that Beyonc\u00e9 would make a surprise appearance<\/a> on the last night of the Democratic National Convention back in August, though that ultimately did not happen. <\/p>\n

The Houston rally will be Harris\u2019 first appearance in Texas since running for president in this election. Although Texas is not considered a battleground state, Republican Sen. Ted Cruz, who is up for re-election, is facing fierce competition<\/a> from his Democratic challenger, U.S. Rep. Colin Allred<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Allred, who is also expected to join Harris at her Houston rally, has made abortion rights central to his campaign for Senate. Harris is likely to similarly underscore that issue to the crowd on Friday. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
