Mark Kelly (D-Ariz.) took to X to announce \u2026 he\u2019s getting rid of his Tesla.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is going to be my last trip in this car,\u201d Kelly said <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/CaptMarkKelly\/status\/1900574148906086817\" target=\"_blank\"><u>in a video posted to his social media<\/u><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Arizona Democrat wrote the car felt like \u201ca rolling billboard\u201d advertising Elon Musk. The chainsaw-wielding special adviser to the president has spearheaded the Department of Government Efficiency\u2019s shuttering of agencies and mass firings across the government. He\u2019s also Tesla\u2019s CEO.<\/p>\n<p>Kelly said he couldn\u2019t drive the car without thinking about the damage DOGE has brought on the government, including the firing of veterans. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cElon Musk kind of turned out to be an asshole, and I don&#8217;t want to drive a car built and designed by an asshole,&#8221; Kelly said.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this week, President Donald Trump decided to buy his own Tesla, setting up a collection of the electric cars for his selection at the White House after protests broke out across the country at Tesla dealerships.<\/p>\n<p>Following the car show, Senate Democrats <a href=\"https:\/\/www.schiff.senate.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/warren_letter_re_tesla_wh_commercial.pdf\" target=\"_blank\"><u>sent a letter<\/u><\/a> to the U.S. Office of Government Ethics asking the office to open an investigation, saying Musk and Trump used their roles to promote Musk\u2019s company with their \u201ctemporary Tesla showroom.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Amid the Friday chaos on Capitol Hill, Sen.
