He won\u2019t have a chance!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/trump_repost\/status\/1869829094365638700\" target=\"_blank\"><u>said in a separate post<\/u><\/a> that Roy was \u201cgetting in the way, as usual, of having yet another Great Republican Victory &#8211; All for the sake of some cheap publicity for himself. Republican obstructionists have to be done away with.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Roy has voiced no desire to raise the nation\u2019s debt limit \u2014 as demanded by Trump \u2014 without corresponding spending cuts throughout the federal government. The Texas conservative also serves as a member of the Rules Committee, which gatekeeps which measures hit the House floor.<\/p>\n<p>The president-elect has made a habit of threatening challengers to Republicans who cross him. Many have been successful, though he\u2019s come up short in challenging some \u2014 like Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) \u2014 who have not been reflexive votes for his nominees or agenda.<\/p>\n<p>Roy, a former chief of staff to Sen.
