In the new administration, he will work with the cost-cutting \u201cDepartment of Government Efficiency,\u201d led by Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, the president-elect said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMark will work closely with our DOGE team to cut the size of our bloated Government bureaucracy, and root out wasteful and anti-American spending,\u201d Trump said in a statement. \u201cMark is a brilliant and tenacious lawyer, who worked tirelessly to advance my Agenda in the First Term.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Paoletta is a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2023\/05\/04\/clarence-thomas-mark-paoletta-defense-00095269\" target=\"_blank\"><u>close friend of Justice Clarence Thomas<\/u><\/a> and called Thomas \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/MarkPaoletta\/status\/1807815092790018240\" target=\"_blank\"><u>our greatest living American<\/u><\/a>.\u201d He also wrote a book on Thomas. Paoletta represented Thomas\u2019 wife, Virginia \u201cGinny\u201d Thomas, before the House select committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol.<\/p>\n<p>Paoletta is also helping Trump\u2019s transition team with proposed Justice Department policies.
