Former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley said she had \u201cno interest\u201d in taking a role in President-elect Donald Trump\u2019s Cabinet.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had no interest in being in his Cabinet, he knew that,\u201d Haley said during an episode of her radio show on Wednesday<\/a>. She said Steve Witkoff, whom Trump has since announced he\u2019ll name Middle East special envoy<\/a> in his administration, came to Haley\u2019s home in South Carolina and \u201cwanted a truce\u201d between Haley and Trump and asked if there was anything she wanted.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere was no truce needed. Trump had my support. There was no issues on my end,\u201d Haley said. When asked what she wanted, she told Witkoff, \u201cThere\u2019s nothing I want,\u201d Haley said on the show.<\/p>\n

Trump and Haley have had a fraught relationship since she challenged him in the Republican primaries. The week before Election Day, Haley said she was \u201con standby\u201d<\/a> to campaign for Trump, though she ultimately never stumped for him.<\/p>\n

And last week, Trump said on Truth Social that he would not be \u201cinviting\u201d his former U.N. ambassador to a role in his second administration<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI very much enjoyed and appreciated working with [Haley and Mike Pompeo] previously, and would like to thank them for their service to our Country,\u201d Trump said.<\/p>\n

Haley also detailed conversations with Trump transition team co-chair Howard Lutnick about Trump\u2019s Cabinet, where she said Trump should \u201csurround himself with people that are going to tell him the truth.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBut I did not ask anything for me, and I have made it clear to everyone that I was not interested in the administration,\u201d Haley said on the show.<\/p>\n

\u201cDo I take it personally? No. That\u2019s who he is,\u201d Haley said. \u201cHe can be shallow at times, and I think he\u2019s showed that. But I don\u2019t have to be shallow.
