Tammy Baldwin.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was shocked by what unfolded on election night,\u201d he said in a <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/EricHovde\/status\/1856444700707958981\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>video posted to social media<\/u><\/a> Tuesday. \u201cAt 1 a.m. I was receiving calls of congratulations, and based on the models, it appeared I would win the Senate race. Then, at 4 a.m. Milwaukee reported approximately 108,000 absentee ballots, with Senator Baldwin receiving nearly 90% of those ballots. Statistically, this outcome seems improbable.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The latest unofficial results from Milwaukee show Baldwin winning 78 percent of the city\u2019s vote, and it\u2019s not unusual for absentee, or mail, ballots to be more Democratic than the overall vote.<\/p>\n<p>Hovde and Baldwin had a tight \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/live-updates\/2024\/10\/18\/2024-elections-live-coverage-updates-analysis\/baldwin-hovde-wisconsin-senate-debate-00184472\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>and at times, tense<\/u><\/a> \u2014 race. The businessman had not commented since the Associated Press projected <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/live-updates\/2024\/11\/06\/2024-election-results-live-coverage-updates-analysis\/tammy-baldwin-wins-wisconsin-senate-00185157\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>Baldwin\u2019s win<\/u><\/a> last Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>While he refrained from asking for a recount \u201cbecause [recounts] don\u2019t look at the integrity of a ballot,\u201d Hovde said that he will announce his decision on how to proceed \u201conce the final information is available and all options are reviewed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Part of Hovde\u2019s argument referred to preliminary totals that Joe Biden received 10 million more votes in 2020 than Kamala Harris this year \u2014 even though some states are still counting substantial numbers of ballots.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSince last Wednesday, numerous parties have reached out to me about voting inconsistencies, such as certain voting precincts in Milwaukee having turnout of over 150% of registered voters, and in some cases over 200%,\u201d he said, without providing evidence.<\/p>\n<p>Hovde also blamed Democrats for funding third party candidates Thomas Leager and Phil Anderson for drawing votes away from himself.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf either of these candidates had not been in the race, the outcome would be different today,\u201d he claimed.<\/p>\n<p>Tammy Baldwin responded in a <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/tammybaldwin\/status\/1856458326982434873\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>social media post<\/u><\/a> on Tuesday, writing that Hovde \u201cis spreading lies from the darkest corners of the internet to undercut our free and fair elections,\u201d and calling for him to \u201cstop this disgusting attack on our democracy and concede.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Wisconsin GOP Senate candidate Eric Hovde is casting doubt on the results of his election following his loss to Democratic incumbent Sen.
