PHOENIX. Arizona \u2014 Turning Point USA CEO Erika Kirk has endorsed Vice President JD Vance for president, an early sign of influential support for a likely leading candidate in 2028.<\/p>\n

Kirk, who took over leadership of Turning Point after her husband, Charlie, was killed in September, announced her decision during a speech Thursday at the organization\u2019s America Fest conference in Phoenix.<\/p>\n

Vance is scheduled to speak at the conference on Sunday.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are going to get my husband\u2019s friend JD Vance elected for 48 in the most resounding way possible,\u201d Kirk said.<\/p>\n

Vance has not yet committed to running in 2028, but as vice president he is widely expected to seek the White House. TPUSA \u2014 founded by Charlie Kirk \u2014 holds major influence for the MAGA movement, particularly among young conservatives, and the early endorsement could give an early lead among the Republican hopefuls.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy attitude is the American people elected me to be vice president,\u201d Vance told the New York Post in October<\/a>. \u201cI\u2019m going to work as hard as I can to make the president successful over the next three years and three months, and if we get to a point where something else is in the offer, let\u2019s handle it then.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kirk made the endorsement in front of a crowd of thousands of people, many of whom are ardent supporters of President Donald Trump \u2014 and they responded with resounding applause.<\/p>\n
