These documents are separate from the federal law enforcement records Congress voted to make public last month; the Justice Department is required to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2025\/11\/19\/the-epstein-files-are-coming-what-should-we-expect-00660323\" target=\"_blank\">make those materials public<\/a> later this month.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[House Oversight Democrats] intend to release files to the public in the days ahead,\u201d said Rep. Robert Garcia, the top Democrat on the panel, in a post on X. A spokesperson for the committee\u2019s Republican majority confirmed the receipt of the materials.<\/p>\n<p>The committee also received materials from the government of the U.S. Virgin Islands, where Epstein owned his infamous private compound. Ro Khanna (D-Calif.) and Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) and Sens. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), Ben Ray Luj\u00e1n (D-N.M.) and Jeff Merkley (D-Ore.) told Attorney General Pam Bondi in a letter that that they are \u201cparticularly focused on understanding the contents of any new evidence, information or procedural hurdles that could interfere with the Department\u2019s ability meet this statutory deadline.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The lawmakers, who were the lead sponsors of the Epstein files legislation, asked for a briefing no later than Friday and urged the DOJ to coordinate with the lawyers for Epstein\u2019s accusers.
