Harris,\u201d the memo read.<\/p>\n<p>The move, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2025\/08\/29\/politics\/kamala-harris-secret-service-canceled-trump-biden\" target=\"_blank\">first disclosed by CNN<\/a>, comes as Harris is set to embark on a 15-city tour to promote her new book, \u201c107 Days,\u201d starting next month. The tour will place the former vice president \u2014 who has remained largely out of the public eye since leaving office in January \u2014 back in the spotlight.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Vice President is grateful to the United States Secret Service for their professionalism, dedication, and unwavering commitment to safety,\u201d Harris spokesperson Kirsten Allen said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>Former President Joe Biden had initially extended Harris\u2019 Secret Service protection \u2014 which had been set to last until only mid-July \u2014 for an additional year, according to a person familiar with the move who was granted anonymity to discuss security arrangements.
