A series of ash piles littered Los Angeles Street with the charred remnants of cars set afire during protests over immigration.<\/p>\n<p>The quiet in the streets was in marked contrast to several days of escalating protests over President Trump&rsquo;s immigration crackdown. The demonstrations intensified Sunday in the country&rsquo;s second-most-populous city after Trump deployed the National Guard.<\/p>\n<p>Police cars from a smattering of Southern California cities were blocking streets in the downtown.<\/p>\n<p>Workers swept up debris from the streets including tear gas canisters.
